HPE Systems Insight Manager - Setting Up Email Notifications

ISSUE:

Where are email notifications setup within HPE Systems Insight Manager (HPE SIM) 5.1?

SOLUTION:

First, the SMTP server to be used and the sender's email address needs to be specified:

Options -> Events -> Automatic Event Handling -> E-Mail Settings

Note that HPE SIM requires the SMTP server to support anonymous relay.

Second, an Automatic Event Handling Task will need to be constructed/modified to gather the events and forward them to the proper destination.

Go to:

Options -> Events -> Automatic Event Handling -> [New Task, Manage Tasks] -> Select Name -> Select Event Collection -> Select System Collection -> Select Actions.

The email addresses may be separated by commas. Hit Next to move on to the next screen and complete the Automatic Event Handling task configuration.

When modifying an existing Automatic Event Handling task's email settings, it is not possible to skip directly to the relevant screen; it is necessary to hit Next on each respective configuration screen, except the last.

Once the modifications are made, hit Next until the configuration has been completed.
