  1. auto match III spectrophotometer
  2. 68000 based micro
  3. two board construction
  4. sensor board + main CPU board
  5. sensor board has leds soldered on all edges of board
  6. slight nuisance to repair
  7. must cut all then resolder
  8. ics
  9. Colour Board:
  10. Maxim187ACWE x 2 ADC w/4.096 reference (see resources for why this is used)(SPI)
  11. X77K (LED drivers) x 5
  12. LT1152 x 2 (op amps connected between adc and)
  13. LT0412 x 1 (can't find data sheet on this one)
  14. X9241A Renesas digital Potentiometer x 1 (I2C)
  15. OPT301M (Burr Brown / TI).
  16. VDD is 5V+ (colour board)
  17. There is a VREG, and some drivers that are only used for the leds, the 74 series
  18. logic is also for the leds
  19. the FFC connector on bottom of colour board.
  20. Starting at pin 1, with ffc coming towards you

  22. 2
  23. 3 GND
  24. 4 VDD

  28. 8 CS
  29. 9
  30. 10
  31. 11 SCLK2
  32. 12 SCLK1
  33. 13 DOUT1
  34. 14 DOUT2
  35. CS are common to both MAX187,
  36. These numbers (DOUT1,2 SCLK1,2 should be double checked. I think they are wrong.)
  37. Note that they have ONE CS, and TWO DO. So instead of selecting chip via
  38. the different CS, they simply read both DO at the same time.
  39. I didn't know you could do this. However, it comes at the expense of separate
  40. SCLK lines, which they had to put on the FFC.
  41. Both DOUT are held high by R next to each MAX187
  42. Pinout of Colour Sensor EDIT: I found the data sheet, skip to the next pinout
  43. (going clockwise with notch as #1, with the pins facing towards you)
  44. 1 GND
  45. 2 5V/VDD
  46. 3
  47. 4
  48. 5
  49. 6
  50. 7
  51. 8
  52. (with pins below you, top of sensor facing you)(counter clockwise, 1 is one left of notch)
  53. FROM DATASHEET
  54. 1 5V+
  55. 2 In -
  56. 3 V-
  57. 4 1M ohm Feedback
  58. 5 Output (Goes into 0 ohm resistor, then into LT1152 Op Amp on right side)
  59. 6 n/c
  60. 7 n/c
  61. 8 GND (notch)
  62. LT1154 output to MAX187 adc.
  63. One (inverting?) Input is from Renesas Digital Pot.
  64. X9241AUS is four 50K.
  65. No one is really using the X9241 online.
  66. http://www.combustory.com/wiki/index.php/Temperature_Controller
  67. The digital pot looks to be to tune the Feedback R of the OPT301. Pin 4. I think...
  68. Could just hack a 50K resistor in there somewhere probably. It has an internal
  69. 1M ohm resistor...
